Tuesday night the INS Wizards improved their record to 5-1 with a 15-3 lashing of the Wild Bunch. In what appeared to be the most lackluster effort of the season the Wizards easily dispatched of their undermanned opponent. Ted Vawter (3-0) pitched his best game of the season walking only 1 and inducing 15 pop outs. Heath McClure led the offensive charge going 4-5 and scoring 3 runs. Items of note: Will "The Thrill was gone" Cox removed himself from the game in the 5th inning to get "Little Mikey" Sanchez some playing time. That in itself was an item of note as Sanchez didn't stroll into the park until the 4th inning. (Must have been the long commute from his house). Ritch "Big Will" Williams continued his hot hitting from the lower half of the order going 3-4. Mike "The Human Ceiling Fan" Hess cooled the crowd down with his first swinging strikeout of the season. Scott "The Statue" Armentrout was frozen by 3 mesmerizing pitches from the Wild Bunch starter and took his stikeout looking. Left Center Fielder Brian "Toast" Ellison said he would not back up in the outfield until someone backed him up. He was promptly burned by the Wild Bunch's #5 hitter. This after he was "gunned" out by their 3rd baseman who consistently displayed his lollypop arm during pre-game warmups. Ted "No Way am I sliding" Vawter was gunned down at the plate early in the game on a rifle like throw from a Body Man outfielder. Jonathon "Tough out" Leifheit went 3-3 (again). Gary "Pucket and the Union "GAP"" DiFazio went 3-4 and made a great break on the last batter of the game's shot to left field to end the game. Next weeks game is Tuesday at 7:30 at Hobgood. Directions to the park can be found on the atl web page. Thanks to Heather, her sister and the player's wives for supporting the team. Thanks in advance to Scott, Mike and Will for the refreshments they owe the team after Tuesday's game.
